Nicaragua:

Delegation 2: July 25-30, 2008

$800.00USD, includes in-country transportation, two meals per day, accommodation, and donations to organizations we speak with and groups we stay with. Airfare is additional.

Trip highlights may include:

-Visit and meetings with Fundasan Entre Mujeres, an umbrella organization focused on womens health and reproductive issues, as well as product development of coffee and hibiscus, amongst other things;

-Tour the lovely city of Esteli in northwestern Nicaragua;

-Travel by horseback deep into coffee growing communities that make up La FEM Cooperative where we will learn about the histories of these communities, share meals, tour land where coffee is produced, and discuss the entire process of cultivating coffee from bean to cup;

-Visit local produce and handicraft markets, sample foods traditional to Nicaragua and experience the best of the local natural environment.
